If you have DICOM files on your hard drive, on a CD
Rom or any other local media, you can import them into the local database, to a
DICOM server, or a Remote server.
First, you need to choose the source on
which you want to import your DICOM files. In the list of source of the database
window, simply select the target source.
Then simply click on the
"Import" button located in the toolbar of the database window.
From the
popup menu, select the type of files you want to import. You can choose either
DICOM files (DICOM images or DICOMDIR) or a directory (all images contained in
the selected directory and it sub-folders will then be imported).
If you
chose DICOM files, you need to select the files you want to import. Multiple
files can be selected by clicking while holding the "Shift" key. Click on the
"Open" button to start importing the selected images or DICOMDIR.
If you
chose to import all files contained in a directory and its sub-directories, you
need to select the targeted folder and click on the "OK" button. All DICOM files
under this folder and all its sub-folders will be searched. If the search will
take a while, a window will appear, displaying the current status of the search.
You can know how many DICOM files were found so far and which folder is
currently analyzed. You can cancel anytime the search by clicking the "Cancel"
button. No DICOM files will then be imported.
The import process will start when the following window appears:
You can stop to import images
anytime by clicking the "Stop" button.
You also can see how many images
has been successfully imported so far, how many failed, and how many images
remained to be imported. If all images will be successfully imported, this
window will close automatically.
You can hide this window any time by
clicking on the "Hide" button. The import process will continue, running in
background. You can display again this window anytime by clicking on the import
icon located at the right side of the source name in the source
list.
